Founded in 1851, Buffalo Seminary stands as one of the oldest and most distinguished independent schools for young women in the United States. Buffalo Seminary has consistently proven that when you invest in a girl’s education, you change the trajectory of her entire life. Today, SEM stands at a pivotal moment: honoring a remarkable past while boldly building for the future. As the school celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2026, SEM now looks forward to growing its athletic programs and provide students with a first-rate, state-of-the-art athletic facility. This tournament not only celebrates female athletic excellence, mentorship and achievement, it serves as a platform to engage the WNY community in this vision.

ABOUT AMERICAN GOLF GIRL

Empowering young women through the game of golf.

American Golf Girl (AGG) is a community-focused golf movement that empowers girls and young women through the game. Unlike large-scale national programs, AGG intentionally builds local partnerships and engages communities to create accessible pathways for young female golfers to develop skills, build confidence, and strengthen their identities as athletes.

Through event-based programming and dedicated partnerships, AGG ensures young women receive support, visibility, and opportunities. AGG believes golf uniquely prepares girls to develop athleticism, leadership, resilience, and lifelong connections.

ABOUT BUFFALO SEMINARY

Buffalo Seminary prepares diverse young women to become engaged scholars and citizens, empowering them to participate confidently in society.

Buffalo Seminary, founded in 1851, is dedicated to women’s empowerment through education. As the beneficiary of the AGG Legacy Junior Challenge, Buffalo Seminary will receive proceeds to expand athletic programs and facilities for current and future students.

This partnership represents more than traditional fundraising—it demonstrates the importance of investing in all-girls educational environments where young women can thrive as athletes, scholars, and leaders. Both organizations believe sports involvement fosters confidence, resilience, and lifelong leadership skills.
